Come one, come all and be a part of our growing family.

You may already know we have a lot going on. We have a gala Durga Pujo event over two days, with a beautiful ekchala thakur from Kumartuli, National Award-winning artist Anupam Roy and 2019 Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner Ankita Bhattacharyya from Kolkata, and meals for all members. We are also organizing a Kali Pujo and a Saraswati Pujo in Central Bay Area locations. These of course are reasons enough to join but we invite you to think differently about Prothoma.

We are a community, a family of fun-loving people that enjoy time together. Our home cooked meals served in our annual picnic are the talk of the town as is our home cooked bhog in our beautiful shabeki Durga pujo.

There is complete transparency and way too much traffic on our WhatsApp group. Members are always coming up with ideas whether it is hiking some of the beautiful trails here or creating a workshop to teach Bangla to kids. Prothoma offers a platform to reach the Bengali community and make a difference that we have not seen elsewhere in the Bay. As a member we value your input and ideas and ask you to implement them your way.

Our deep and profound gratitude to our community for the overwhelming love and support everybody has extended in giving birth to a dream we call "Prothoma" and for giving this dream form and substance.

We are very excited about our 2021-22 program which already kick started with our Noboborsho Celebrations together at the Quarry Lake Park in Fremont followed by Summer, Picnic, Tagore in the Park. Prothoma is planning to celebrate many more festivals, including Durga Pujo 2021 and occasions together as one big community.

Let us grow together with Prothoma! Please join us! Your continuing early pledges have significantly buoyed our confidence towards making this first years’ events at Prothoma a grand success and will definitely help us continue to keep the momentum going.

Membership Types:

Single $150 - Valid for 1 Adult
Couple $300 - Valid for 2 Adults

Option to add a child (aged 5 to 16) or a Guest (residing outside of San Francisco Bay Area) is available for both membership types at an additional cost of $50 per individual
Membership Validity: 1 Year (till July 31st, 2022)
Membership Includes:

Participation in Prothoma Durga Pujo 2021 
including 3 meals (Saturday Lunch and Dinner, Sunday Lunch)
All cultural activities and event celebrations

Access to all Prothoma Events* till July 2022 e.g. Meets in the Park, Saraswati Pujo and other cultural events like Rabindrajayanti, Noboborsho Celebrations, Diwali celebrations, Year end celebrations and many more.
